Ariel Sharon opened a big can o' worms, or something. He (Israel) killed Sheik Ahmed Yassin, the spiritual leader of Hamas. One guy said that while justified, it probably wasn't a wise move. Some Isreali leaders hoped Hamas would be severly crippled, and start to die, but they seem only angrier, and no less dangerous. In fact, as you can read here in the Deseret News, not only are these Palestinians ticked at Israel, they're taking it out on the U.S.I quote:
The Zionists didn't carry out their operation without getting the consent of the terrorist American administration and it (the United States) must take responsibility for this crime That's bad news. With Rumsfeld in command, I can see this blowing up into a full-on war (if they attack us).

I guess now would not be a good time to plan a vacation to Israel. I wonder if there will be a good time again.
Yeah, I think Rumsfeld is a little trigger happy. The idea that we could be attacked when he's around doesn't make me feel safe, especially now that we're being blamed for Israel's actions. I really, really wish he would be replaced, Cheney too while we're at it. (Condi would make an excellent vice-president.)
I just think the U.S. has earned a "bad guy" reputation that won't quit.
