Current Events

There's been a lot of humor over the past several years dealing with Bush's intelligence. Some's probably merited, and other isn't. We all say dumb things -- something I do quite frequently, but here are some fun tidbits from Kerry, who is generally considered more of an intellect than Bush.

  • "The vast majority of our imports come from outside the country."
    - John F. Kerry
  • "If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure."
    - John F. Kerry
  • "One word sums up probably the responsibility of any Governor, and that one word is 'to be prepared'."
    - John F. Kerry
  • "I have made good judgments in the past. I have made good judgments in the future."
    - John F. Kerry
  • "The future will be better tomorrow."
    - John F. Kerry
  • "We're going to have the best educated American people in the world."
    - John F. Kerry
  • "I stand by all the misstatements that I've made."
    - John F. Kerry
  • "We have a firm commitment to NATO, we are a part of NATO. We have a firm commitment to Europe. We are a part of Europe."
    - John F. Kerry
  • "Public speaking is very easy."
    - John F. Kerry
  • "A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls."
    - John F. Kerry
  • "We are ready for any unforeseen event that may or may not occur."
    - John F. Kerry
  • "For NASA, space is still a high priority."
    - John F. Kerry
  • "Quite frankly, teachers are the only profession that teach our children."
    - John F. Kerry
  • "It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it."
    - John F. Kerry
  • "It's time for the human race to enter the solar system."
    - John F. Kerry

I read a similar list of Bush quotes, and by similar I mean exactly the same. The first one about imports, was on a Bush quotes list that I saw a long time ago.

Yeah, I'm sure Bush has plenty of bad quotes. I think I found one you were referring to here.

I just posted some funny Bush quotes from the comic strip Doonesbury. These are actual quotes from President Bush in the last year:"I'm honored to shake the hand of a brave Iraqi citizen who had his hand cut off by Saddam Hussein.""And most importantly, Alma Powell, secretary of Colin Powell, is with us.""Karyn is with us, a west Texas girl just like me."It must be hard to talk off-the-cuff all day without saying something weird.

Yeah, what's the source for all these quotes? Some of those sound recycled or misattributed.--"I have made good judgments in the past. I have made good judgments in the future."--A quick google search, for example, shows numerous attributions of this quote to Dubya (likely), several attributions to Dan Quayle (moreso), and only a couple--on conservative blogs and message boards--to Kerry. This site atrributes most of your list to Quayle.

Bush has mixed up some of his words, but if you really look and listen closely you will notice that Kerry and Edwards are very smooth operators of fiction-as-truth. Bush and Cheney (especially in light of tonight's thrashing of Edwards by the vice president)deserve four more years. They are the only choice for what America needs right now.
